About the job

This is an exciting time to join our Consulting team in a Customer-facing Director role as we continue to grow our Consulting business. The successful candidate will influence the strategic direction of the Consulting business, as well as playing a leadership role in the company and in the legal industry more broadly.

Our consulting team leads strategy, innovation, transformation and operational efficiency projects, working with the C-suite or equivalent of leading corporates and law firms. Our Customers are typically FTSE100/Fortune 500 corporate law departments and US top 100/UK top 50 law firms.

Key responsibilities for this Director role include:

• Ensuring there is a strong sales pipeline, a highly utilized and high-performing team and delighted Customers who choose Elevate as their consulting partner of choice in the legal sector

• Leading consulting engagements for our top clients, working with them to identify the ‘job to be done’ and designing and delivering cost-effective solutions to meet their needs. These solutions will appropriately leverage the wide range of insights, software and services Elevate has to offer

• Collaborating effectively with teams across Elevate, including our Sales team, to originate work, deliver multi-disciplinary projects and achieve our wider organisational objectives.

Role description

Drive activity across the consulting project lifecycle, working with law firms to originate projects and then lead their successful delivery.

More specifically, you will influence and collaborate with law firm leadership, and teams across Elevate, to:

• Originate strategy, innovation, transformation and/or operational efficiency projects in law firms, as well as identifying and converting opportunities to promote Elevate’s other services

• Design and deliver strategy, innovation, transformation and/or operational efficiency projects for our Customers. This includes personally leading projects with our largest Customers

• Be an ambassador for the company at all times, building a deep network across the industry and being recognised as a thought leader

To support the above, you will lead and develop a team of consultants in your region, as well as work collaboratively with teams across Elevate. While the role is based in the UK, you will work for regional and global clients as required.

Essential experience:

• 12+ years’ experience, with at least 3 years’ experience in a Consulting practice or major in-house change function in a law firm

• Excellent grounding in consulting techniques, whether gained at a consulting firm or at an in-house change team in a demanding corporate environment

• In-depth knowledge of how a law firm works, including an understanding of core practice group/functional areas

• Experience with process re-engineering, alternative sourcing models, and technology-enabled change, having autonomously led complex projects/programs of work.

• Proven track record of selling consulting services or acting as internal lead for originating major transformation projects

• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or formal legal training preferred but not essential
