Position Summary

The Litigation eDiscovery and Operations Manager is an experienced and driven litigation paralegal with a successful track record in driving efficiency in litigation and legal operations and in the management of all aspects of eDiscovery. The Litigation eDiscovery Manager will work alongside Legal Team leadership to develop and manage a wide range of legal and litigation operations workflows and initiatives, including a comprehensive matter management system and other technical solutions, including budgeting and invoicing. The Litigation eDiscovery and Operations Manager will be responsible for conducting and managing eDiscovery and legal hold processes in support of litigation and government investigation matters. The role requires effective coordination and collaboration across multiple stakeholders, including outside counsel, internal business clients, and vendors. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a proactive self-starter attitude, excellent attention to detail, a heightened awareness to deadlines, and a demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Essential Duties

  • Develop, manage and execute plans to preserve, review, produce, and ultimately dispose electronic documents in connection with multiple litigation and government investigation matters
  • Function as a subject matter expert on eDiscovery and the legal hold process and serve as a liaison between the Legal Department and other internal and external functions.
  • Assist IT Department with the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data
  • Support attorneys with eDiscovery custodian interviews and custodial preservation issues
  • Draft, issue, track, and manage multiple legal holds and legal hold custodian lists and be the main point of contact for a legal hold software vendor
  • Assist in-house litigation attorneys in the proactive development and implementation of eDiscovery and litigation hold best practices, processes, and procedures
  • Supervise, manage, and report on cost and vendor spend, and other project related metrics.
  • Serve as internal project manager for Legal department technology initiatives
  • Champion and leverage key technology tools (such as Microsoft suite of software) in the department
  • Provides other legal operations and litigation support as requested
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual

Expertise Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years of litigation paralegal experience, including with eDiscovery and project management
  • Bachelors degree is required
  • Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.
  • End user and administrator understanding of various legal operations systems, including matter management systems and invoicing and budgeting tools, eDiscovery platforms and eDiscovery tools, such as Relativity, Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Requires confidentiality and discretion
