Job Description
Legal Operations Manager at Checkout.com:
Checkout.com is seeking a dedicated Manager, Legal Operations to join our legal team to support business growth and expansion!
You’ll be a part of our Legal Operations team and responsible for assisting with the overall strategy, development, implementation, and maintenance of processes and technology solutions under the General Counsel. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing operational efficiencies and driving cost-effective operations resulting in tangible savings for the organization. You will also have oversight of and responsibility for vendor relations, including outside counsel, and will partner with Finance and Procurement to oversee budgets and accruals, develop financial reports, and aid in processing invoices, as well as work with commercial teams to assist with contract workflows.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Oversee the relationship with the department’s outside counsel law firms and other vendors, and assist with related billing/invoicing and payment processes.
- Optimize and enhance the use of technology, including creating process efficiencies, data integrity and managing cost.
- Leverage data through metrics and dashboards to provide valuable insights to leadership on various initiatives.
- Oversee vendor payment process using e-billing software and partner with Finance to manage the accruals processes for the department.
- Partner with the commercial legal and deal management teams to create contract workflows and provide support for the company’s CLM system.
- Assist with departmental people processes such as onboarding new employees and contractors, and provide assistance as requested with communications, memberships, all-hands meetings, department surveys, and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
About you:
- Proven experience in a Legal Operations role (5+ years) including 2+ years of experience managing teams.
- You have experience with e-billing/vendor management software (Brightflag experience is a plus) and with a contract lifecycle management system (IronClad, DocuSign or LawVuexperience preferred)
- Proven experience with “help desk” type and service management solutions featuring ticketing systems, self-service portals and knowledge-bases (e.g., Freshservice, Jira, Confluence)
- Experience building and maintaining intranet portals and pages
- Experience managing business operations functions including systems, data analytics, budgeting, or vendor oversight
- Demonstrated leading large projects, managing multiple large vendor relationships
- Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing best practices and process improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to proactively identify needs and issues and provide solutions
